Dr. Asher Hasan is a 2009 member of the Clinton Global Initiative, a TED Fellow and a Draper Richards Social Entrepreneur Fellow for 2009-2011. In addition, Naya Jeevan and he are the recipients of a $75,000 1st prize in the 2008 NYU Social Entrepreneurship Business Plan Competition. Prior to launching Naya Jeevan, Dr. Hasan served in the capacity of Senior Director of the US Medical Affairs Obesity team for Amylin Pharmaceuticals, Inc. During his tenure in the biopharmaceutical industry, Dr. Hasan also completed a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from New York University’s Stern School of Business.
 
Irum has 6 years of corporate experience in enterprise risk management with State Street Corporation (Boston, Massachusetts). Irum had previously worked in Investment Banking for Natwest Markets and at Citibank with Global Finance and during the launch of (first ever) credit card operations in Pakistan. She secured her MBA from the Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS), one of Asia’s premier business schools. Naya Jeevan and she are the recipients of a $75,000 1st prize in the 2008 NYU Social Entrepreneurship Business Plan Competition.
 
Saad has over 10 years of experience with startups, corporate development, technology, scaling organizations, and account management. He was an early employee at Trigo which was acquired by IBM and subsequently worked with IBM's Software Group. He has lived in Dubai, Karachi, Columbus (OH), San Francisco, and New York City. Saad obtained his BA in Computer Science, Economics and German from Ohio Wesleyan University, and completed his MBA in Entrepreneurship and Finance at New York University’s Stern School of Business. Naya Jeevan and he are the recipients of a $75,000 1st prize in the 2008 NYU Social Entrepreneurship Business Plan Competition.
 
With over 5 years of experience in Marketing, PR and Brand Management, Ayesha has been associated with some of the leading companies in Pakistan. She has played a front line role by setting up the policies, procedures and operational flows of one of the leading media companies in Pakistan. Recently, Ayesha was the Brand Manager for Airwaves Media which is part of the illustrious Interflow Group where she headed Branding and Activation activities for News One, but with her exceptional contributions soon grew to take charge of their Radio and Entertainment channel as well. Ayesha has an MBA in Marketing from Greenwich University.
 
 
Fareen has over ten years experience within the Marketing and Communications division of Ford Motor Company, working on consumer insight programs, training and focus groups as well as managing in-depth market research for the US automotive industry. In addition to working with FMC's Office of General Counsel to alleviate high-level consumer grievances, she has led several teams working to design, develop and implement successful turnkey solutions for in-house customer service departments. Recently, she has lent her expertise as Editor-in-Chief of an architectural magazine, the first of its kind in Pakistan. With degrees in Journalism and Mass Communications, as well as Textile and Apparel Sciences, she brings a broad range of professional and educational experience to the organization.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
Shabbir is a science graduate. He has served in the MIS group at Greenstar Social Marketing where he also assisted the Regional (South) team in project management and operations.
 
Sarwat completed her M.Sc in Research, Guidance/Counseling and Educational Psychology from Karachi University through R.L.A.K. Govt. college of Home Economics during the session of 2007-2009. Her past work experience has been with Citibank, Karachi Marriott Hotel, Gerry’s and DHL Pakistan. She has extensive experience in managing and retaining clients, customer service, and business development. Some successful projects include, coordinating the launch of the first consumer credit card by Citibank in Pakistan while working with the merchant team, organizing events at the Karachi Marriot Hotel for longer staying guests, re-opening more than 5 key accounts at DHL Pakistan, and singularly operating the claims department for more than 2 years at DHL.
 
Dr. Aftab Iqbal completed his medical degree from Rawalpindi Medical College. After completing his house job in Pindi he secured a Fulbright Scholarship to the US. He obtained a Masters degree in Epidemiology from the Harvard School of Public Health. His research interests are focussed around social disparities and the health of the vulnerable.
 
Dr. Sara Salman is a graduate of Sind Medical College, Karachi, and has a Masters degree in Public Administration from the University of Karachi. She previously worked at Greenstar Social Marketing Pakistan as a Master Trainer and then as a Manager of Health Services. She has a rich set of experiences in Social Marketing, Medical Training and Public Administration.
